Africa and Latin-America are the continents represented on this label. Music from Surinam, the Dominican Republic, Gambia, Ghana, Morocco, Kenya and many other countries can be found: music for dancing as well as for contemplation. The World Roots Collection is part of this label and was compiled by Frans Goossens (musical director of the famous venue Melkweg, Amsterdam) carrying the subtitle ‘the worldwide collection of urban musical traditions’. This series consists of recordings made during world music concerts in the Melkweg.
